Some excellent news!

I have some excellent news! When we came home from mom's place on saturday, a letter was waiting for us in the mail box. it was from the school where my older son applied. MashaAllah wa alhamdulilah Allahu Akbar, they accept him! I'm so happy about it! Otherwise i don't know what he would have done now that his grade school is over.

He will study surface finishing, and the group where he was accepted is a smaller, special group with less theory and more real work. I think it will be good for him. It's something he always wanted to do! I'm so happy for him and i hope that he will take the school seriously and study good inshaaAllah!

The whole weekend and the beginning of the week have been great alhamdulilah! On Sunday we went to the Adventure Park with Nadia's grew and found a group of our dear sisters with their children sitting on the grass! They were having a picnic. My daughter Nadia and I had missed the discussion about this event on FB, but alhamdulilah we were there and saw our group! We had a good time!

Today I had to get my medicine from the pharmancy in the center. We decided to go to the library too, and I found some really nice books I've been looking for! On the way there we saw that Amira's f-dh was working in his brother's pizzeria, so we went to say Salam to him. The kids wanted pizza of course, so we stayed..

Nader was finally eating normally! Or more than normally actually! :D Poor guy, I think he has been hungry all the time during the time he's been recovering from the operation. He could not eat any warm stuff until today, only soft bread, pudding,ice cream and stuff. He still has been complaining about pain while eating until yesterday.

First he ate a quarter of family size pizza and then half of normal size pizza on top of that. All together that makes one full adult size pizza, which even I have trouble eating (and I love pizza and always eat too much of it.. And regret later :D ). His smile was until his ears mashaAllah.

He also didn't ask for the pain killer anymore. The first week I gave him two kinds regularly, but the last couple of days only if he felt like he couldn't be without. Alhamdulilah he hasn't asked for it too many times.

This is the first night he sleeps without any painkillers. InshaAllah he will not wake up for pain. At least now he seems to sleep peacefully. And it's amazing to see him sleeping with closed mouth, breathing from his nose! He hasn't done that in a very long time.. If ever.. Alhamdulilah seems like the operation really helped him and he's recovering well!

Some little action these days

We had a little action the last few days. MashaAllah fun, different and not stressful.

Yesterday we visited the navy base next to our home (1km away actually). They had an open doors day, including tour in the military harbor in a bus (I've been there by walk ages ago, but now they let people only with a bus). There was also a cool military police action show, special fire unit show, some different army vehicles and other 'big boys' tools, and the kids got to try some boat simulator which reminded me of a computer game, it was just more real looking.

I don't like war or weapons, but it was kind of interesting. Alhamdulilah we live in a safe, peaceful country, so the army only gets to practice and they don't have any real situations. The vecicle in the picture is the special fire unit (puts OFF fire, not make it :P ) It shoots water bombs and sprays water with high pressure. the kids got to go in it and try some stuff. they were so exited.

The most hilarious moment was when Nader went to the mariners, who were showing their recoilless riffles and telling about their part in defending the country. Nader told them straight off that he wants to join the navy, the boats are more cool than riffles lol.. the mariners looked quite disappointed :P .

And I must say that as a hijabi I got treated really nicely by everyone. I wasn't so sure about it.

The other day Donjana went to a kids party to a really cool place. It's an Indoor playground, a really large one! In the picture it shows maybe one quater of it, or less. I took Deena and nader to have some burgers while Donjana was there, but they got a chance to try the playground action a bit afterwards.


Today we went to the city library. Can you see how my kids run fast to get there? Lol.. They love books and so do I! The new library here is such a cool place, they have a lot of stuff for kids, toy exhibitions etc.. And a toy corner too. And plenty of comfy chairs and sofas to sit, read and relax.



I read detective stories mostly. I should read something more serious more often too, but I have also learned a lot just from these stories that I read. Alhamdulilah most writers these days try to find out real information about things they write, not just pick up stuff from their heads. The last book that I read 'happened' on Shetland Islands. It sounds really interesting.

This evening we went to pick up lilies of the valleys. Btw, doesn't that simple flower have any more simple name? I love them anyway, and now the house smells sooooo good! mashaAllah!



Tonight about 11 pm I went to take the rubbish bag out and I saw the sky looking really weird.. All the clouds were straight lines, starting from one spot like rays.. I've never seen such mashaAllah. The sunset colours were not yet showing, because sun set only 15 minutes before this (it takes a long time to get dark here after the sun set, about 2 hours). The colours were brighter later, but then the clouds were already gone so it didn't look special anymore.

It looks like the wind up in the sky has been really strong to make these lines like that mashaAllah!

GONE FISHING!

Lol I just had to use that headline. It's a name of an old hilarious movie, where two friends go fishing and everything that can go wrong, goes wrong. (Starring Joe Pesci, Danny Glover, 1997)



Aaarghh, this is not what I wanted to write.. But we were fishing today. Yeah! And I'm so exhausted. If you think you will find a deeper meaning in this post, you're on a wrong page.. Read yesterdays post instead. I'm too tired to write between the lines. I just want to tell yall about our fun day.

And the same time I'm watching Finland beating USA in ice hockey :P .

So, after Donjana finished school, we went fishing. Some of our friends came with us and they brought the fishing gear.


It didn't take long to get the first fish.. Actually we got many! Or not me.. But.. Us.. You know ;) ? DH and his brother bought even more fishes from some small boys who were there too. All the fishes were small though.


The kids were having a blast! They were play-fishing with some sticks and made 'food' of some dead leaves (=fishes) that they 'caught'. They were quite nicely and nobody got even their shoes wet! I'm impressed. I got a chance to sit and enjoy a book for a while alhamdulilah. (I didn't want to fight over the fishing gear.. My dad took me fishing always, so I've had my share and I can enjoy something else while others fish.)



Someone brought extra hooks with lines, so I made a small rod for the children of a stick so that they could try some real fishing too. Their worm got bitten many times, but they didn't have patience to let the fish swallow the hook. Hehe, they need some practice. I need to teach them inshaAllah.



We cooked the fishes in a grill right away.. I must say alhamdulilah I'm allergic to fish, so nobody tried to make me eat some.. Small Finnish fishes are full of bones hehe.. Not my favorite food. And I'm not the only one who was happy that we brought some sausages and bread too ;).



We had a long and happy day alhamdulilah.

And btw.. Finland won 3-2! WE won!
